Thanks to your input, we’re making a major upgrade to the Change Network program in 2020. Here are the details on what we’re changing to make the program better.
Here are the big things that are changing:
The program will now have two platforms: Trello for your team’s work, and the Change Network Community for learning and connecting across teams.
Team work is moving (back) to Trello in a more powerful way.
Your team will have your own Trello board to organize your work, use and share tools, and report on your progress. You’ll have access to all the OF/BY/FOR ALL tools, and we will make suggestions and provide you with sequences of tools that go well together.
Instead of a one-sentence pledge, we’ll help your team build a one-page “Change Plan” of specific of, by, and for changes you intend to make to involve your community of interest.
The Change Network Community will continue with more clarity and opportunities to connect.
We’ll still use Mighty Networks, but it won’t be the “everything” place anymore. It will be a focused social space to connect with other changemakers.
We’ll host monthly videocalls on topics of greatest interest to members.
You’ll have a quarterly coaching call with Lauren, Nina, or Mateo, our new Community Catalyst.
There will be an annual retreat. The next one will be in late February in Miami, cohosted by HistoryMiami Museum and Vizcaya Museum and Gardens.
The community itself will keep growing. We expect to welcome 10-20 new organizations by the end of 2019, and another 50-100 in 2020.
Altogether, the upgraded Change Network program has five parts:
A Change Plan that you create to set your intention and goals for deepening community involvement. We’ll provide step-by-step support so you can pick a community of focus and make a plan to meaningfully involve them. This Change Plan is replacing the pledge as a more nuanced and easy-to-track set of targets for your growth.
Tools and suggested activities to help you make inclusive changes and achieve the goals you set. We keep building our tool bank based on Change Network organizations’ needs, successes, and lessons learned.
Progress reports to enable you to be accountable and reflective as you change. Each month, one person from your team will submit a progress report.
Coaching to help you navigate the surprises and challenges ahead. You’ll have up to four, 1:1 coaching calls with an OF/BY/FOR ALL Community Catalyst to review your progress on your Change Plan.
Community of Practice to connect you with smart, dedicated people at other organizations around the world who are striving towards similar goals. Everyone on your team is invited to join the OF/BY/FOR ALL private social network, and we also host an annual in-person retreat for Change Network members.
When does renewal start?
We’re extending all First and Second Wave organizational memberships until the end of 2019. If you renew, your renewal date will be January 1, 2020.
You must renew by December 6, 2019 to secure your spot for January 2020 at the discounted renewal fee.
What does it cost?
The Change Network is a fee-based program on a sliding scale based on your organization’s budget size. There is an annual, renewable fee, paid by your organization. You can involve as many individual team members at your organization in the project as you would like under this fee.
All First and Second Wave organizations will receive a 20% discount off of the regular membership fee, as noted below.
Note: the fees listed below are for organizations in the global North with non-POCI leaders. If your organization is in the global South and/or has POCI leadership, the fee is reduced by 50% (after the 20% renewal discount). Contact us to learn more.
